Mayambula Male Lions
Five of the six Mayambula Male Lions were observed a few months ago just south of the Sweni Pride territory.
We spotted one of the Mayambula males mating with a Sweni Lioness on the Sweni Plains in the centre of the Sweni Pride territory in early 2024.
We aren't sure what happened to the three Sweni Pride males at this point.
We will keep you informed.
Five Mayambula males were spotted close to Sweni Lion Pride
They originate from the Mayambula Lion Pride in the Timbavati and were fathered by the two Mbiri males, Shaka and Zig Zak Scar, sons of the famous Matimba's. (NOT Senior Mbiri of the Nsemani Pride)
The six brothers have taken over the Lion Pride around Bobbejaankrans.
The coalition of six young brothers is around six years old and in the prime of their lives and could be a threat to Casper the White Lion and his three Shish (Shishangaan) Brothers territory at Nsemani Dam, only about 12 km to the east of Bobbejaankrans!
